I still keep pinching myself that the new job is real. I'm going to be working for the British Council in Malaysia as a senior trainer of primary and secondary school teachers.
I heard today that I'm probably going to be based in Alor Setar in Kedah. For some reason I had been concentrating on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia and musing about living in Kuantan or Kota Bahru, both of which I've visited before, but Alor Setar is somewhere I've never been before so this is really exciting and new.
